I'm so...confused.

You Republican kids just...get me. I'm not about to insult you, so don't do that "la la la la, can't hear you!" thing, kay?

I'm just saying.
I have ALOT of friends who were raised Republican. Mast majority of which I didn't even KNOW were before the elections last year. And you people...just BEWILDER me.

Cause I can seriously talk to you guys about ANYTHING. I mean I've had such cool convos with these people. They're SO cool, and I heart them with everything in me. These are people of HIGH ranking on my scale (it's you crazy Democrat kids I gotta watch out for XD).

I generally get along with you people (lol, "you people" XD)
We share interest and VALUES, and IMPORTANT things that make a friendship WORK.

SO.
When election time rolled around (reared it's ugly head) I was EXTREMELY surprised to find out how many of my dearest friends were like "MCCAIN/PALIN!!!"

Do you GET where I'm coming from?

I just don't understand it.
It's also the idea that of ALL the things you decide to listen to your PARENTS about and not rebel against, it was their political opinions.

I'm NOT trying to say there is anything WRONG with being Republican. I just disagree strongly with the opinions of the Republican party. That's all.

Because...politics is not like Religion. You don't just pick the "church" your folks go to. Your allowed to look at what these people BELIEVE in and see if you agree or not. You're allowed to have your own OPINION.

I understand that you guys are not at all mindless drones set your parents will. I seriously TOTALLY get that.
But to ME, your political opinions say A LOT about who you are. They represent not only WHO your are, but who you think OTHER people should BE, and the way you think the WORLD should WORK.

And if your parents can be WRONG about other things that are important to you, what makes you think they're RIGHT about politics?

I disagree with my parents about many things. I'm VERY critical of the things they tell me (of course, I still live with them, so no matter what I think, I do as they say).
Because throughout my years of living, I have developed OPINIONS. THANKS to them I have developed these opinions. Their hard work would be WASTED if I were to just go their way when it came to stating my OWN opinion on big subjects.

They MATTER. They're not just the sticker you have on your car, or the sign you have in your lawn.
Your opinion on politics matters. ESPECIALLY if you are going to EXPRESS that opinion openly to the rest of the world.

I did RESEARCH before determining what was for ME. I'm not wiz when it comes to politicians and politics and the way the freakin world works. I don't know squat, really. But when it comes to making a serious decision about what I believe and about sharing that belief with others, I tried to LEARN a little, so that my opinions wouldn't be based soley on the ones being formed in my own home.

I had MANY arguments with my father about politics. (I was SO for Clinton for a while there). And in those arguments I knew right away that I needed to educate myself a bit before taking a stand on ANY platform of beliefs.

And this is to ANY body excepting the beliefs of your parent's as your own! YOU make your beliefs! But your beliefs make YOU!!


And don't worry, we still COOL if your a Republican. Just watch out for me during elections, I can be a real bitch when it comes to supporting my choice! And don't even TRY to debate with me if you don't know your shit, I will eat you alive, and if I don't know mine, I expect you to do the same!!
